2022 went by in a flash, but it was a blast thanks to folks like you.

Some of you already know this, but Tree Dog Studio is a shop of one. This journey began in the fall of 2019 when I decided to buy a 3D printer, promising myself that I would only get to keep it if I could recover the initial cost through commission jobs. So I set the printer up on a shelf in my dining room and started printing. Fast-forward to the start of 2023 and that single printer doing random print jobs has grown into a small print farm in its own home printing products for a dedicated online storefront.

Speaking of 2023, I have some exciting news to share with you!

New Home

As I mentioned above, print operations have grown enough to justify a dedicated space. While it's great to have my dining room back, this also means there is a controlled environment to help increase print reliability, more space for filament inventory, and space to continue adding more printers.

New Colors

I'm very excited to add several new colors options! Expect more details in the near future, but here is a small teaser for now.

This is just a small taste of the new color selection, so keep an eye out for future newsletters with more information!

New Add-ons

Starting with orders placed in 2023, the bolts available as keyboard case add-ons have been upgraded to silver stainless steel. These new bolts are hex drive rather than philips. If you do not have the appropriate hex key available (1.5mm) they are available for $0.50. Pricing for the bolts is unchanged.

If you already placed an order in 2023, your bolt add-on will be upgraded to the new stainless steel hardware with a hex key at no additional charge.

New Shipping Options

In December, Shopify announced that all of the carriers would be increasing shipping rates in 2023. After much thought and consideration, all US orders will new be shipped via UPS (with the exception of post office boxes, which must be sent via USPS). UPS has always been a fast and reliable option, and most packages should see faster shipping speeds than with the previous shipping methods.

Shipping prices are now calculated based on UPS rates to the destination. Free shipping will now be available at $99 and up.

If you already placed an order in 2023, your shipping method will be automatically upgraded to UPS at no additional charge.

The option previously called "Express Shipping" has changed to "Priority Printing Queue (UPS Ground)" and costs $24.99. As the name implies, this shipping option now prioritizes your order at the top of the print queue for times when order timing is more important. The shipping method used is UPS Ground.

International shipments will now use UPS and DHL, with the USPS being removed. Pricing is still calculated automatically based on the destination.

Finally, expect some new products to be added to the store throughout the year. Here are a few items and options that will be available in the near future, with more to come after that:
